The College of Nursing and Health Professions serves more than 1500 students and offers certificates and degrees on campus and online ranging from the associate to the doctor of philosophy in 38 graduate and 20 undergraduate academic programs.
THE DREXEL COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND TENET MEDICAL SYSTEM
Drexel University has its own medical and nursing schools and is closely affiliated with Tenet health System. Tenet operates five hospitals in the Philadelphia area: Graduate Hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital, Roxborough Memorial Hospital, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and Warminster Hospital.

The Philadelphia area, with more than 120 hospitals and ranked 24th in the lowest number of registered nurses per capita, faces a severe nursing shortage. Pennsylvania health care providers are experiencing a nine percent vacancy rate (Campaign for Nursing’s Future, Feb. 2005). Job fairs for nurses and other health care providers are held on a regular basis (approximately four times/year) in the Philadelphia area. The College of Nursing and Health Professions will provide at least one facilitated visit to a job fair for the Korean nurses. In addition, interviews can be arranged at selected hospitals for qualified nurses. The Philadelphia LifeScience Career Alliance is actively cooperating with the ELC to facilitate interviews for qualified nurses. Finally, the ELC will provide workshops to develop interviewing and resume writing skills to prepare the nurses for the job interviews.
